GOAL:
Why are fonts different between numerical and character fill-in fields?
FIX:
Numerical fields like decimal, integer, date etc use a fixed width font so that the numbers can line up if multiple fill-in's are placed beneath each other.
Character fill-in fields use a proportional font which is much nicer looking for written text and is also space saving.
