Q+E Database Editor and Library for MS-WINDOWS and PROGRESS


Pioneer Software has tool (which is SQL based) which accesses
a variety of databases and began shipping their PROGRESS interface
product in April 1993.
This is a MS Windows based tool.
The product is call Q+E Database Editor and Q+E Database Library.

Q+E also supports the Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) protocol and can be
used as a data server for other MS-WINDOWS applications that support
DDE, such as Excel, WordPerfect, and Lotus 1-2-3.

The Q+E Database Library (QELIB) is a standard lower level SQL-based
interface. With QELIB, a developer can access SQL and non-SQL
databaes from the macro, script, or programming language of any
application development tool (i.e., Visual Basic, Toolbook, etc.)
capable of calling an MS-WINDOWS Dynamic Link Library (DLL).

- MS-WINDOWS applications will be able to access all of PROGRESS'
remote gateways supported by the PROGRESS MS-WINDOWS product with
Pioneer's version 2.0 of the PROGRESS driver: Oracle, RMS, Rdb,
AS/400.
- Independent software vendors can use Q+E Database Library with
various third party development tools to build MS-WINDOWS
applications that interface with the PROGRESS RDBMS.

- The editor is targeted at END USERS. The library is targeted for
developers.

- Pioneer's database driver is written in PROGRESS HLI/C.

- Pioneers Q+E is available at software retail stores and by
mail-order houses as well as international distributors.

- Q+E customers must have a PROGRESS license (PADS, 4GL/RDBMS,
Query/Report, or Runtime) on MS-WINDOWS (only) to use Q+E with
either a local or remote PROGRESS database.
