SYMPTOM(s):
Prorest -vf generates messages similar to DB block in area 6 with dbkey , does not match backup. (9454).
DB block in area <number> with dbkey <dbkey>, does not match backup. (9454)
Full verify failed. (3757)
Performing prorest <dbname> <backup file/device>
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
Progress/OpenEdge Product Family
CAUSE:
The database has changed since the backup was made but before the prorest -vf was performed.
FIX:
Prorest with the option -vf is intended to compare each block within a backup file to the corresponding block of the database which the backup was taken from.
Although it should be used immediately after a full offline backup is performed it is often used in conjunction with online backups.
If the database has changed at all after the backup is performed but before the prorest -vf check is made the blocks recorded in the backup will l not
match those within the database and will generate (9454) messages.
