SYMPTOM(s):
The Bell statement does not work.
The Visual Basic Beep statement fails also.
CAUSE:
There is no sound associated to the default Windows beep.
FIX:
Associate a sound to the default Windows beep from the Control Panel.
For example on Windows XP:
Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices Properties
[Sounds]
Default Beep = Sounds: Windows XP Ding.wav.
