Upwards of 400 users connected to database via stateless appserver connections

Client connections last only couple of seconds

New users unable to connect to database

Process Explorer from Sysinternals.com showed java.exe associated with appservers.

The java.exe process at 100% of cpu disappears when appservers shutdown.

CHANGE:

Moved to a new multi-processor Windows 2000 server

Lack of available database resources (latches) for client load
