GOAL:
TranMan. Is it possible to load the Dictionnary Labels and Colum-Labels in TranMan II?
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1D
FACT(s) (Environment):
Tranman II
FIX:
Yes this is possible.
The dictionnary Labels are translated at run-time based on your TranMan Glossary and language compiled.
This means, that when creating a New Project in TranMan and having load the procedures and extracted the strings from the procedures you have selected, normally the labels of the fiels that are in the procedures eill appear in the Glossary in way to translate them to the target language.
Things you should consider:
1. In Data Dictionnary, before using anything in TranMan is is recommended to adjust the String Attributes (you can see them in Dictionnary at the Field Level by editing a Field). They have to be adjusted in function ot the target language in way to make them Untranslatable, Translatable, Right aligned, Centered or Left aligned or Trim. Also the expected Growth Ratio.
2. Before loading the strings with TranMan you should review the default filters for including the Label and the Column label from Data Dictionnary.
See In Filters the toggles for Labels, Toggle OTHER, in Column-Label you should do the same Toggle OTHER.
This should be enough to extract your string and to have the labels and column-labels from the Dictionnary.
