FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1D
SYMPTOM(s):
Databases not starting automatically from Progress Explorer
Automatically start this database when the AdminServer is started
FIX:
The Adminservice is the process which reads the conmgr.properties file and will start any databases which are set to autostart. The Progress Explorer tool is only used to maintain the configuration of the databases etc stored within the conmgr.properties, it does not do anything automatically, it loads the proexp.msc just for the server information (machines to connect to).
Therefore, starting Progress Explorer will not autostart anything it is when you start the AdminService that processes (databases, appservers etc) are started.
