SYMPTOM(s):
Probkup is not creating a multiple extent backup
The -vs parameter is being specified with Probkup to create a multi-volume backup of a specified sizes
Backup is creating only one file
CHANGE:
Upgraded database to 9.x from 8.x
CAUSE:
Miscalculation the value passed to the -VS parameter. The -VS parameter specifies the size of the backup extent by multiplying the -vs by the blocksize.
In this case, the database blocksize was changed to 4096 from 1092.
FIX:
In this specific scenario, change the -VS parameter when multiplied by 4096 to equal 2GB in size. This will create backup files of 2GB.
As a rule, multiply the value of the -VS parameter by your database blocksize to estimate the size of each backup extent.
