GOAL:
What is the expected behavior of active after imaging when running an offline probkup on a single-volume database?
GOAL:
What behavior is expected when using a single ai file, with active after imaging and doing an offline probkup in version 9?
GOAL:
What behavior is expected when using a single ai file, with active after imaging and doing an offline probkup in version 8?
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 8.x
Progress 9.x
FIX:
In version 8:
The behavior was related to use of the -a and whether the file was within a structure file. the use of -a is to locate the ai file.
In a single volume database, doing an offline probkup with the aimage still on does not cause a switch.
Add the ai file by running rfutil dbname -C aimage begin -a bob.ai.
Use probkup dbname dbname.bak -a bob.ai to back up the database.
Run rfutil dbname -C aimage new to empty and truncate the ai file after the offline probkup, making a copy before running the new.
