Error 1894 trying to connect a remote Oracle Dataserver Broker from an IBM AIX client
This module can access ORACLE only through the PROGRESS network. (1894)
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
IBM AIX
Oracle DataServer
CAUSE:
On IBM AIX, the Progress executables that is shipped do not contain any link to an Oracle libraries.
FIX:
For Progress Verison 9 and earlier, use "probuild" to link the executable(s) needed with Oracle libraries .
For OpenEdge 10 use oebuild script (see solution P34980)
Common executables to probuild:
Progress Client (_progres),
Remote ORACLE DataServer (_orasrv),
Remote DataServer Broker (_probrkr)
Progress AppServer (_proapsv)
