SYMPTOM(s):
jre.exe errors and broker starting problems using Progress 9.1B on Windows 2000
jre.exe has generated errors
Progress Explorer starts but the broker or servers does not start.
Using command line with wtbman nsman or other commands does not ether work.
CAUSE:
This is caused by the JRE version which comes with Progress 9.1B which in some cases seems to not work correctly on Windows 2000.
FIX:
To solve the problem do the following:
- Download JRE 1.1.8_10 at http://java.sun.com/products/archive/jdk/1.1.8_010/jre/index.html
- Install this, for example C:\JRE118
- Go into the same JAVA key in the registry and change the value of JREHOME
to C:\JRE118 after finding it by searching for the keyword JREHOME
in this example.
