NTVDM.exe caused an application error
Latest Windows XP Service Packs and recommended updates applied
Reducing the length of the PATH environment variable does not help
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 8.2A
Windows XP
CAUSE:
When the character based application initiates, NTVDM.exe is a support file of 16-bit Application. Progress 8.2A is not a certified (or supported) OS for Windows XP.
FIX:
Upgrade to a supported Progress Version.
Progress 8.3E was the first version to be certified against Windows XP. Please consult the Progress Product Availability Guide for certified platforms of our Products and refer to your Progress Account Manager for licensing requirements.
