FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1D
FACT(s) (Environment):
Solaris SPARC 8 32-bit
SYMPTOM(s):
Progress installed the wrong version of java
Progress installed java version 1.3.1, when default is 1.3.0
java -version shows:
PROGRESS Version 9.1D as of Wed May 8 16:44:59 EDT 2002
java version "1.3.1"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.3.1-b24)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.3.1-b24, mixed mode)
32 bit installation of Progress was installed
CAUSE:
On Solaris Sparc 9.1D, Progress installs jre 1.3.1 for 64 bit installations and jre 1.3.0 for 32 bit installations. The fact that you have jre 1.3.1 means that you have installed a 64 bit installation of Progress.
FIX:
Progress requires the following for a 32 bit installation of 9.1D.
Sun Solaris SPARC
2.6/2.7/2.8 (32-bit)- 1.3.0
(JDK and JRE Installed by Progress)
