Installing a new version of Progress on your machine and are getting errors related to: Can't find pathname/_ovrly
Operating System (OS) version is supported with the version of Progress being installed.
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress/OpenEdge Product Family
All Supported Operating Systems
CAUSE:
The problem could be due to the the media code of the Progress installation being the incorrect one for the Operating System (OS) version.
FIX:
Check the media code of the Progress Installation CD to validate that the one you were shipped is the correct one for the platform you are trying to install on.
Example:
If you are using Red Hat Linux, then you would have a media code of 178 - not 177 which would be for UNIX V.4 or Caldera Open UNIX.
These media codes can all be cross-referenced in the Progress Product Availablilty guide on the Progress Website.
