SYMPTOM(s):
Attempting to open/create an Excel spreadsheet that contains a PivotTable.
Error occurred while accessing component property/method: <property or method name>.
<COM message>
Error code: <Program name> (5890)
Error occurred while accessing component property/method: ADD.
Unknown name.

Error# 5890 can also be seen with other methods such as CreatePivotTable, PivotCaches and PivotTables.
Microsoft Office 97 is being used to open the embedded Excel object.
The Excel worksheet can be successfully opened/created in an earlier version of Excel.
CAUSE:
This is a known issue with PivotTable in Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows.
FIX:
To correct this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 97 Service Release 2 (SR- 2).
