Database is multi-volume
CAUSE:
-a as a startup parameter is for single-volume databases only.
In a Version 8 single-volume database, the .db file does not contain any structure information. For this reason, a Progress server or single-user session has no way of knowing where the after-image file is.
In Version 8 multi-volume databases, the .db contains the location for all the extents, including the after-image extents, so there is no need for Progress to tell the server/single-user session where they are.
FIX:
Do not use the -a parameter with a multi-volume database.
