SYMPTOM(s):
Error 1246 occurs when trying to connect to MS SQL Server database
Cannot access <db-type> with current CONFIG file. (1246)
Connecting through a shortcut
Connecting to the MS SQL Server database
Connection works fine when opening the Data Administration from ProEnv
SQL server dataserver license installed
CAUSE:
The variables DLC, PROMSGS and PROCFG set in the progress.ini are not pointing to the correct Progress version.
FIX:
Correct the variables in progress.ini to point to the right Progress install, then connect to SQL server database
