Summary of the Dynamics Framework
Dynamics is a comprehensive, repository-based framework for Progress 4GL developers who are building new applications, or who need to migrate existing applications to take advantage of new Progress technologies.
A Dynamics application is composed of many components of different types. Some of these components provide support for the User Interface, such as:
1. Windows
2. Browsers where users can scroll through the results of a query and possibly select records to update
3. Viewers or frames where a single record is displayed and updated
4. Toolbars
5. Tab Folders
Other components are procedural objects that define the business logic of an application. Many of these are ·dynamic· or data-driven objects, created at runtime out of data in the Dynamics Object Repository.
