FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1x
SYMPTOM(s):
ADSL performance is slower than ISDN
Client/Server application with AppServer:
- Client: 9.1C WebClient
- Server: 9.1C on HP-UX
CAUSE:
Different ISPs might have the infrastructure set for the interleaved or
fast ADSL which can cause the network latency time to vary.
FIX:
This problem is not caused by the Progress as different Progress clients
take advantage of the OS underlaying network layer. If configuring the
MTU and MaxTcpWindowSize size do not help, then only option is to contact
the ISP and require their assistance in resolving the performance problems.
