GOAL:
Can a database structure be fixed after a variable extent hit the file system max file size limit during a prorest?
GOAL:
If you have a variable extent and it hits the 2GB Operating System limit during a prorest, is it possible to make that variable extent fixed and create a new variable extent and then retry the restore?
FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
Progress/OpenEdge Product Family
FIX:
No.
You must delete the old database structure and then recreate a new correct structure, then restore into the new structure.
You cannot use prostrct repair to repair the structure. This command is not allowed to be run on a database after a prorest failure. If you do, you will receive the message:
A previous prorest <database> failed. (614)
