SYMPTOM(s):
Disconnected from server because database name was incorrect. (437)
Failed to connect to the ODBC database (6142).
The _probrkr broker is running through procontrol
Broker log displays the following error message:
BROKER could not fork a server process. (1156)
New 9.1D ODBC DataServer installation with custom installation
_odbsrv.exe is missing on the %DLC%\bin directory. Installation of the DataServer with COMPLETE option on top of previous custom installation did not place _odbsrv.exe in the %DLC%\bin directory.
After placing 9.1D00 _odbsrv.exe in %DLC%\bin directory, it worked fine
CAUSE:
Missing _obdsrv.exe from %DLC%\bin directory caused the problem.
FIX:
If custom installation was performed, uninstall the ODBC DataServer first before installing with complete option.
If _odbsrv.exe is still missing, the _odbsrv.exe can be copied from the same OS platform with Progress version 9.1D to the problem machine into the %DLC%/bin folder.
