GOAL:
When upgrading clients, should DataServer also be upgraded ?
FIX:
The thing to keep in mind here is that a DataServer can count as a server product or a client product depending on the configuration.
If the DataServer is installed local to the client, it should be counted as a client product and as such should be upgraded along with other Progress products if required. (For instance, when upgrading to 8.3E when the client PC is upgraded to Windows XP)
When using a remote DataServer, it should be counted as a server product and as such does not need to be upgraded unless the clients wouldn't be able to connect otherwise.
