SYMPTOM(s):
Errors running proadsv:
Unrecognized option: <option>
Could not create the Java virtual machine.
CHANGE:
The JVMARGS setting in $DLC/bin/java_env was edited to add a new Java startup option.
CAUSE:
The option specified in JVMARGS is not recognized by the JVM implementation on your operating system.
In particular, extended startup options (those which start with -X) are JVM dependent, as a consequence they may not be recognised by all implementation. For example, -Xoss is recognised by the JVM for Solaris, but not by the JVM for HP-UX.
FIX:
Remove the offending option, and consult your JVM documentation to verify which options are available.
