FACT(s) (Environment):

Progress 8.x

SYMPTOM(s):

DynaText documentation provided with Progress 8 prints with strange characters.

Printing pages from the DynaText documentation prints with 'a' and 'U' characters in place of things like bullet points.

CAUSE:

Faulty documentation.

FIX:

There is no fix for the documentation in Version 8. Version 9 documentation does not have the problem.

The current solutions are:

1. Order hardcopy documentation from your local Progress sales office. This will be at a cost and you should inquire with your Progress Sales Representative.

2. Download and print the Progress 9.x pdf documentation available from www.progress.com/support. Although this documentation isn't exactly like Version 8, it is close. Please make sure you compare relevant sections between the Version 8 and Version 9 documentation before using.
