Steps for deploying an application from Roundtable.
Why you need to know this:
==========================
The deployment process in Roundtable prepares the full application or
an incremental release of the application for installation on a site
that does not use Roundtable. The deployment process deploys
everything that has changed about an application; including source,
schema and binary objects.
Procedural Approach:
====================
Here are the steps for deploying an application with Roundtable:
1. Complete all tasks that have changes that should be included on
the deployment.
2. Create a Release in the workspace.
3. Create a Deployment Site, or select an existing Deployment Site.
Remember that Roundtable enables you to deliver encrypted
source code to different types of Progress licenses. By default
encryption is done for Runtime, Query and Development licenses.
4. Verify that all previous deployments are Complete. If there is a
WIP deployment it must be complete before a new deployment can
be created.
5. Add a new deployment for the new release to the site.
6. Select the schema option. This is where data preservation can be
done for any serious schema changes in this deployment.
7. From the Schema screen choose Build.
8. Use Update Processing to help Roundtable preserve any data that
could be lost.
