SYMPTOM(s):
"MSS DataServer" folder not present within Progress Explorer
Progress installation only has SQL Server7 Enterprise DataServer license installed
Can not upgrade to Progress 9.1C
Can not start the _msssrv.exe process via the command line
Can not edit the AdminServerPlugins.dat file
The MSS DataServer plugin is missing from the AdminServerPlugins.dat file.
CAUSE:
Bug# 20010130-014
FIX:
Upgrade to 9.1C or higher
If unable to ugrade the workaround is:
Install another Progress license in conjunction with the SQLServer7 Enterprise license.
For example, install ProVision Plus or ProVision. The installation of another license enables the MSS DataServer folder to show within Progress Explorer. Make sure you uninstall and re-install both components within the directory, hence this updates the progress.cfg file.
