FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1D
FACT(s) (Environment):
PeerDirect 6.1
SYMPTOM(s):
PeerDirect Replication activation overflows the locking table
SP5 and TF 15 are installed
CAUSE:
When PeerDirect activates a database for replication it starts a large transaction which locks all the records from all the tables, this transaction allows PeerDirect to create new tables in the meta schema which are used for the control of the replication
FIX:
Start your database with a very large -L, make sure of run a tabanalys before enabling replication to determine the largest amount of records on a single table and set the value above this one also make sure the BI file can grow big enough to handle this large transaction.
