Printing problems under Windows 95 ( Story of ... )
If a customer is having problems printing under Windows95 even after
using -Wa -wpp, the problem lies in the Win95 printer setup. When
printing under Win95, the default method of print spooling is for
Windows95 to convert the data to be printed to a proprietary (EMF)
metafile format, and then printing to the printer. This metafile
format is non-printer specific, so it is faster for Win95 to print,
but there is a chance that necessary printer specific information will
be lost. This is the case with Progress. Under Windows95, you must
change EMF spooling to RAW spooling. The easist way to do so is:
Open up Control Panel
Open up Printers
Bring up the Properties for printer you are trying to use
Pick the Details tab
Click on Spool Settings...
Change Spool Data Format from EMF to RAW
Choose OK
Choose OK again
Now Progress should be able to print correctly under Windows95.
