SYMPTOM(s):
Error (98) when attempting to access a shared resource which is not properly mapped
Performing an OS-COMMAND NET USE to map a network resource
Windows NET USE returns System error 85 has occurred.
user has sufficient privileges/permissions to be able to access this resource
** Unable to open file: <file-name> Errno=<number>. (98)
** Unable to open file: Errno=13. (98)
entering NET USE from a Windows command prompt shows no network connections
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
CAUSE:
If the Operating System itself does not show the mapped resource then Progress will not be able to use this resource.
FIX:
Make sure the Operating System is mapping the resource and this is available, if the resource exists the Progress session will be able to use it.
