FACT(s) (Environment):

FACT(s) (Environment):

SYMPTOM(s):
No such file or directory error when installing service pack on Linux
Installing service pack on Linux
No such file or directory error
Error occurs at stage: <path-to-Service-Pack-image-directory>/<INSTALL-COMMAND>
CAUSE:
The following is extracted from the READMESP file that should be read before the installation of the service pack is done:
STARTING THE SERVICE PACK INSTALLATION
To begin the Service Pack Installation, mount the cd to your cdrom drive,
or if you have downloaded the image, unpack the image to its own directory.
From a directory other than the Service Pack cdimage directory, issue
the following command:
<path-to-Service-Pack-image-directory>/<INSTALL-COMMAND>
<extract ends>
On Linux implementations there is a command "install" (check your system's manpages for confirmation). Sometimes users will mistakenly try to use this rather than the correct Progress install command. That is, if they have untarred the service pack to e.g. /usr/progress/servicepack they will try to install the service pack with the command /usr/progress/servicepack/install.
proinst is what should be referenced, e.g. /usr/progress/servicepack/proinst.
FIX:
1. Use the Progress proinst script in order to install the service pack.
2. Ensure that you read the relevant READMEs before trying to install the service pack.
