How to prevent the user from having to scroll down the window when using character client

How to prevent scrolling down to see messages displayed in the character client window
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows XP
FIX:
The default DOS command window size is too big. Set the properties in the Character Client icon to use a window of a smaller size (i.e. 80 x 20) and set the Screen Buffer Size of the Console window to be of the same size.
