SYMPTOM(s):
Extended characters are not properly displayed inside the OS environment of Red Hat Linux 8 or Enterprise 3.0
Border lines around menus or frames do not show correct character on Red Hat Linux 8 or Enterprise 3.0
CAUSE:
Red Hat Linux 8 / Enterprise 3.0 locales default to UTF-8. So output to (or input from) the file system might result in incorrect data.
FIX:
In /etc/sysconfig/i18n modify LANG="en_US.utf8" to LANG="en_US" or to another locale which is compatible with your Progress environment. Reboot the machiner.
