Minimum # of files for GUI and CHARACTER mode in UNIX
The following indicates what files are necessary for running
Progress V7 in character mode vs. GUI mode. It also includes
a brief explanation of what each directory is used for. With this
information you should be able to determine what minimum files are
necessary for running in either gui or character mode.
ora - Oracle Dataserver
syb - Sybase Dataserver
cis - C-ISAM Dataserver
prolang - Files for foreign languages
probuild - Files for rebuilding Progres executables
gui - Dictionary and editor files for Motif/GUI mode
gui/prodict/ora - Oracle files
gui/prodict/syb - Sybase files
gui/prodict/rms - RMS dataserver files
gui/prodict/ism - C-ISAM dataserver files
src - Source code for dictionary and editor files
src/prodict/ora - Source code for Oracle files
src/prodict/syb - Source code for Sybase files
src/prodict/rms - Source code for RMS dataserver files
src/prodict/ism - Source code for C-ISAM dataserver files
bin/_ora* - Oracle dataserver files
bin/_syb* - Sybase dataserver files
bin/_prooi* - ODBC files
bin/prooi* - ODBC files
prohelp - Files for using HELP utility (do not delete-needed
for both character and gui mode)
toolkit - Files for deploying encrypted code
The tty directory is relevant for character mode but not all
subdirectories are necessary. Please see below:
