high number of Dr Watson errors after deploying application update

The application areas that are crashing though random are the same Dr Watson messages

prowin32.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
You will need to restart the program

Cannot Open DrWatson Log File
Windows 2000 returned error code = 5
Access denied

Exception number: 80000003 (hardcoded breakpoint)

Clients connect through Appservers in a terminal services environment

CHANGE:

Since installing the latest version of the application the a high number of Dr Watson errors appeared.

CAUSE:

permissions issue

FIX:

Check the following:

1) If the drive where Progress is installed have any special permissions for specific users?
2) Is "Allow inheritable permissions from parent" checked?
3) It could also be possible that the user does not have the permissions needed to create network connections?
