FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1D
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000
SYMPTOM(s):
Crystal Reports versions earlier than 9 may have strange behavior using Outer Join with SQL (+) notation
CAUSE:
Crystal Reports has a registry which alters the SQL syntax generated for certain operations including but not limited to OUTER JOINs.
HKey_Current_User\Software\SeagateSoftware\Crystal Reports\Database
option\Outer Join
FIX:
If you have very unpredictable outputs from Crystal Reports check the registry key:
HKey_Current_User\Software\SeagateSoftware\Crystal Reports\Database
option\Outer Join
Save the key first by using the Export function in the File Menu.
Then remove the pgpro915 entry.
Open Crystal and the report with the outer join.
Reverify the database and preview the report.
All of the data should be there and be correct.
