FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress/400 DataServer
SYMPTOM(s):
Problem entering "@" into French AS/400 (ibm297) database.
The '@' symbol could be added from a Progress GUI client and retrieved and displayed correctly. But using AS/400 tools (QUERY DSPPFM) to view the physical files resulted in incorrect characters. In this case "à".
CAUSE:
The dictionary library had been built with DUPPRODB using the wrong base codepage.
FIX:
When executing DUPPRODB, specify codepage 297.
Enter DUPPRODB on the command line and press F4.
Press F10 for all DUPPRODB parameters to be displayed.
Enter codepage in the "DataServer Database Code Page" parameter.
