SYMPTOM(s):
SYSTEM ERROR: CRC failure on backup header block (1058)
Error occurs when attempting to PROREST a Progress online backup.
Restoring to the same machine where the original backup was done.
Using the same Progress product version that was used during the original backup operation.
CAUSE:
This problem will occur when the PROREST command is executed improperly. In other words, when the source and target destinations are swapped within the PROREST command.
Example of an incorrect PROREST command: prorest C:\backup\sports.bak C:\wrk\sports
FIX:
Make sure the proper syntax is used within the PROREST command.
Example of a correct PROREST command: prorest C:\wrk\sports C:\backup\sports.bak
