GOAL:
What is the purpose of useV8browsesize setting in the startup section of the Registry?
FIX:
A Version 9.x browser differs in size from Version 8.x because it uses a new formula that is the result of a bug fix. In Version 9.x browsers, numeric columns are resized according to their formats. This results in a more accurate column width than the old formula.
However for backward-compatibility, we introduced the UseV8BrowseSize = YES setting in the startup section of the Registry / progress.ini file. This reverts to the old behavior and allows the Version 8.x browser to maintain its old size under Version 9.x.
