SYMPTOM(s):
Receiving error message - Please enter a valid absolute path for the Application Root Directory when running WebClient Application Assembler.
Path entered contains relative or ambiguous entries.
Application Root Directory C:\@{DLC}\APPROOTDIR
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows
OpenEdge 10.x
Progress 9.1D
Progress 9.1E
CAUSE:
The @{DLC} is a relative entry and is not allowed.
FIX:
There are no requirements for where the Application Root Directory is to be located. However, an absolute path is required because, if relative path names were allowed for the Application Root Directory, Progress is then left with the question, "Relative to what?", the current working directory, root or some other directory? This cannot be ambiguous but must be un-mistakable, therefore, absolute path is required.
example:
c:\web-project\rcode\APPROOTDIR
or
d:\code\APPROOTDIR
