SYMPTOM(s):
Two clients connecting to and then accessing a database lock up.
One client connects to the database and can run without a problem
When a second client connects and runs query it locks up and the first one online also locks.
Third client cannot even make the connection to the database.
The service pack level for the server is sp2.
Socket errors.
CHANGE:
They hooked up a DSL router, with DHCP enabled, and the network already had a DHCP server.
CAUSE:
Hostname, IP address conflicts on the network.
FIX:
Disabled DHCP.
Setup static IP addresses.
Setup DSN.
Attached the DSL with a direct cable to the network HUB.
