FACT(s) (Environment):
All Supported Operating Systems
OpenEdge Category: Database
Progress 9.1B
CAUSE:
Bug# OE00068173
CAUSE:
Database logs indicate backup was successful but when the database is restarted or ai enabled, Progress reports last backup was not sucessful.
The calculated size of the backup/restore was incorrect causing an overflow when attempting to format a buffer for message display purposes. This corrupts the pointer to the master block causing garbage to be written to the backup file in place of a real master block.
FIX:
Upgrade to the latest commercial release. This issue was addressed in Progress 9.1B patches and fixed in Progress 9.1D
