This Product Services Knowledgebase entry describes the VMS SYS$WAKE
error that occurs under certain PROGRESS record locking conditions on
VMS-based machines.

POSSIBLE CAUSE OF ERROR:

Two users are accessing same record and they are either in different
VMS groups, or they do not have VMS WORLD privilege set.
DOES ERROR INDICATE CORRUPTION: IF SO, WHAT TYPE:

CORRECTIVE MEASURES:
===================
This error can be avoided. The user must be running version 5.2H
or greater of Progress. They must also have GROUP and WORLD privileges
granted to the PROGRESS _mprostrt _mprosrv or Progres modules.
To issue these privileges:
1. Login as SYSTEM.
2. SET DEF to SYS$SYSTEM.
3. Issue the INSTALL command.
4. At the > prompt, type:
>ADD/OPEN/HEAD/SHARE/PRIV=(SYSLCK,SYSGBL,SYSNAM,DETACH,
GROUP,WORLD)"DUB0:[DLC]"_MPROSRV.EXE or
_MPROSTRT.EXE or PROGRES.EXE
Note: "DUB0:[DLC] should be changed to the directory where you
installed PROGRESS.
