Op sys pre-5.5.1 on multi-processor machine freezes process
890914-LSH01VMS PROGRESS sessions "freezing/hanging"
We had a large site in Australia that had many VMS machines that were
running PROGRESS 4.2O and occasionally the sessions would "freeze" and
all the processes related to PROGRESS were in a "wait" state. After
much work by our development staff here and our colleague (Steffan
Weiss) in Austarlia it was finally determined to be a bug in the VMS
O/S version and only affected machines with 2 or more processors. The
latest O/S version 5.1.1 seems to have fixed the problem. They have
been running without recurrance of this problem since 8/20/89.
Many Thanks to our "down under" colleague to finally put this one to
rest!!!!
