GOAL:
Is it a requirement to use Progress Explorer if you want to use Fathom?
FIX:
Progress Explorer and Fathom store the information of 'managed' databases in the conmgr.properties file within the Properties directory of %DLC%. Progress Explorer is not needed to use Fathom directly, however Progress Explorer is used to maintain Database Parameters.
Therefore, you only need to use Progress Explorer to make changes to the configuration of managed databases. Fathom and DBMAN provide methods of starting/stopping databases and monitoring/trending can be configured to auto start when the databases starts.
