ON statement changed between v6 and v7
In V6 the ON statement remaps terminal keys ONLY when prompting the
user for input, such as with the PROMPT-FOR, SET, UPDATE, and INSERT
statements.
In V7 the ON statement remaps terminal keys no matter what is going on
in the code because now it is acting like a trigger. Also, the new
definitions remain in effect to the end of the session or until
another ON statement changes the definition.
