How do I remove an OpenEdge 10.x service pack from Windows ?
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows
Progress 9.1D
FIX:
During a Progress/OpenEdge service pack installation, the user is prompted as to whether they want to backup their existing installation files. If this backup process is done, the Progress/OpenEdge service pack can be properly backed off. During the service pack backup operation, Progress copies the existing Progress files into a backup directory structure.
To remove the Progress/OpenEdge service pack, simply use the Windows "Drag and Drop" feature to copy the contents of backup directory folder to the parent Progress installation folder. The subdirectories of the parent backup directory folder will then be recursively copied into their proper locations. Thus, removing the Progress/OpenEdge service pack.
If the user did not choose to backup the current installation before the Service Pack installed, then it cannot be removed without removing/re-installing.
