Linux Intel
Progress 9.x
OpenEdge 10.x
SYMPTOM(s):
Unable to run "proinst" on Linux using a downloaded Progress product.
Bad interpreter
No such file or directory
CAUSE:
The Progres product downloaded for Linux was decompressed on a Win32 operating platform using WinZIP prior to FTP'ing its contents over to the Linux box.
FIX:
FTP the original Progress product download file over to the Linux box in binary mode, then use the Linux "tar" and "uncompress" commands to decompress the product files into their native operating environment prior to running "proinst".
