Can PROUTIL -C IDXANALYS report index usage?
GOAL:
How to know the usage of an index?
FIX:
PROUTIL -C IDXANALYS reports only information about Index *blocks* in order to determine whether a IDXBUILD or IDXCOMPACT could improve performance. It does not provide any information about index usage, just data about the efficiency of the index when it is used.
The only way to know about index usage is to trace index activity with the -baseindex -indexrangesize startup parameters as explained in Progress Solution p5281 "how to get number of create, read, update, delete on a table or an index"
