GOAL:
Is a blank userid valid to perform SQL Statements?
FIX:
A blank userid cannot be used the ODBC connection to retrieve data. A blank userid is not a valid user to perform SQL Statements.
A common cause for 'MERANT ODBC PROGRESS driver error 1', avoided by connecting with a valid userid (username) to the database.
