Oracle Worldwide Customer Support announces Extended Assistance
Support for Oracle Version 6, effective January 1, 1996.

Announcement Detail
-------------------
With the end of the Oracle Version 6 Support Extension Program on
December 31, 1995, Customer Care Support will no longer be
available to customers on this version of the Oracle RDBMS and
its associated tools. For those customers who are still unable to
migrate to Oracle 7 and its associated tools before December 31,
1995, Oracle Worldwide Customer Support will provide Extended
Assistance Support for Oracle Version 6 and its tools through
December 31, 1998.

Extended Assistance Support for Oracle Version 6 and its
associated tools provides for telephone and electronic support
only, consisting of:
? Answering customer questions
? Providing workarounds, if possible
? Providing customers with migration path information

Extended Assistance Support does not provide for:
? Software error correction support
? Backporting of fixes
? Certification with other supported products or new
operating system releases
? Escalation Support or guaranteed response times or skill
availability

Only previously supported releases of Oracle Version 6, along
with its associated tools, compilers, and certified operating
systems on each platform, will be supported by Extended
Assistance Support.

Through Extended Assistance Support, Oracle Worldwide Customer
Support will make reasonable efforts to help customers that are

Assistance Support products and platforms will be diminished.
Due to the limitations of Extended Assistance Support, Oracle
strongly recommends that customers migrate to Oracle 7 and its
supported products as soon as possible to maintain the highest
level of support for their products and systems.

To request Oracle 7, supported U.S. customers should call (415)
506-1500 and route their calls to the Media Group. Select option
9 for Client Relations/Media Shipments, the select option 1 for
product updates. Non-U.S. customers should contact their local
Oracle Support Center.

One copy of updated on-line documentation is shipped with all
orders. Additional hardcopy documentation can be ordered by
calling Documentation Solutions Group at 1-800-252-0303 within
the U.S. or contacting your local Oracle Support Center, for non-
U.S. customers.

No customer action is required to receive Extended Assistance
Support Program for Oracle Version 6. There is no surcharge for
this service, but customers are expected to remain current on
their software maintenance fees.

This service announcement is addressed to the Oracle Technical
Contact of record within your company. Please ensure that this
letter is made available to the appropriate personnel at your
site. If you are not the individual within your company to whom
this notice should be sent, please call (415) 506-1500 and route
your call to Client Relations. Select option 9 for Client
Relations/Media Shipments, then select option 3 for Customer
Service. Non-U.S. customers should contact their local Oracle
Support Center.
